Byers Choice - Salvation Army

The name Salvation Army was founded in England, 1865, and followed the love of God as revealed by Jesus Christ. As a result of objection to being called volunteers for their mission and to prevent confusion with Queen Victoria's forces, Booth, the founder of the movement, crossed out the word volunteer and wrote salvation, and so the Salvation Army was born. Since then it has spread around the world.

Each year Byers' Choice honors the Salvation Army with new characters that typifies the spirit of contibuting to this worthy organization during the holiday season.
