Department 56 - Carter Coach
Size: 4.625in H x 3.125in W x 8.875in L
This regal coach is used today at Colonial Williamsburg, the living museum that encompasses over 80 buildings on 300 acres. In May of 2007, Queen Elizabeth visited Williamsburg to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of nearby Jamestown. This historic event included a grand procession through town, in which Carter Coach was used for some of the dignitaries. The coach is pulled by horses from the Rare Breeds program at Williamsburg. Careful research and special breeding have developed animals that share the same genetic make up of animals from the 18th century.
