Nothing evokes holiday memories like music. Annually, we look forward to those familiar tunes by our favorite artists returning to the airwaves. Perhaps your grade school class or high school choir was asked to make a special performance on the local station.

 

At WDFS, the holiday tunes play round the clock from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Check the charming details. The call letters WDFS come from Department Fifty-Six. DFS was our former stock symbol.

 

Art deco architecture - a wonderful reflection of buildings constructed in the 30's. Call letters rest on the top of the 2nd story bay window. The theatrical symbols for comedy and tragedy are sculpted into medallions above the front windows, recalling the many live radio performances serving as our main form of entertainment in the former century.

 

The coordinating accessory shows a reporter interviewing Santa live on air as Santa gives the latest updates and forecasts for the big night ahead.
